Secret # 9 Transcending Rejection and Roadblocks
It just so happens that the smell of roasting turkey is permeating my house.
This reminded me of of something discussed in this chapter.
the "smell of desperation."
I have doused myself in that perfume more than once in my personal life.
It stinks. Being open is one thing. Neediness is another.
Chances are it may happen again. I hope not, yet I am human. I'd like to think that I am more aware now and will catch myself before I immerse myself in it's scent.
Then again my husband has found Facebook and I admit I have been desperate for my computer time. I may just be reduced to begging to get online. lol
I really don't understand why you have have to leave an air of mystery
around everything you do. Are we not adults? Give me a break.
Is being an extrovert and friendly a crime?
I am so over this leaving them wanting more b.s.
It reminds me of all those dating books out there.
You know what I am talking about.
Appear aloof. Dress like this.Do not call them for ____ days. ETC...
Don't get me wrong.
No one needs to lay out a buffet if people are not going to show up for dinner.
But putting on a mask and showing up with an appetizer
is just playing pretend and not being true yourself.
If I like you I am going to tell you.
I think that should apply to your work as well.
That is just my personal opinion.
Which brings me to the the last part of the lesson.
The people I get advice from, inspire me and hang out with, etc...
are all true to themselves.
They are extroverts and introverts.
They are creative, intriguing, successful and mysterious.
This past week I have been connecting with some friends.
They also happen to run successful businesses.
In the next few months we will be bouncing ideas back and forth between each other.
We offer each other different aspects into
creativity,organization, networking & marketing.
We also will be talking about our families and friends.
This is a very exciting and fun time for me and I am looking forward to it.
As always I will continue my journey with my 12 secret tribe.
It is a wonderful place to be.

Over the last few days I have been taking care of my mom as she recovers from minor surgery. (it's always minor these days-stitch you up-shove you out the door!) This has actually been a great time for me. I actually get to spend some one on one time with my mom and some quality time with myself. Also I have access to her computer. It is fairly new. ( are you missing me T-Rexi?)This has given me a chance to read and get to know more about the women participating in 12 Secrets of Creative Women (for more info click on the button in my sidebar)
Yesterday, curiousgirl
blogged about being nice and speaking the truth. Her post spoke to me in more ways than one. I commented on my original thoughts. Then I got to thinking and thinking.

Am I just being nice? Here I am determined to meet and greet everyone in our group. I read what they have to say. I post. Hmmmmmmm. Then I thought some more and I realized something. Jamie has an encouragement-box and I have one as well. It is reading and being inspired by creative women and their art. So whenever possible I am going to visit them and tell them how they have inspired me. For I believe that Strong, Vibrant, Creative, Beautiful Women should Encourage and Support each other. I learned this from one of the greatest women I know, my MOM. It is so missing in society and it is a sad, sad thing. Of course that doesn't mean that I won't speak the truth. However I won't blow smoke up your arse either. I can't promise you that I will be perfect. In fact I got a little PO'D last night. I felt someone wasn't being very nice. So I got a little snarky on Twitter, in a Saturday Night Live way. So I hope you will give me a pass. Next time I will just speak the truth, wherever it takes me.

"Scars are souveniers you never lose, the past is never far..."
Name-by Goo Goo Dolls
This song speaks to me.
As does this weeks lesson in:
# 4 Surrendering to Creative Cycles
For I have been navigating through the darkness for some time now. There have been days that I don't know who I am, where I am or where I am going. There is a big, black pit in my house. I've been plunged into a void of grief. No one seems to understand or care. Where is the girl who likes to have fun all the time? Where is the girl who solves all of our problems? They have lost their patience with me. Many have given up and walked away. (*Note* Nothing like being abandoned, when you feel abandoned! )Then again I have lost patience with myself. I have felt guilty and ashamed. Shouldn't I be over it by now? Shouldn't I be doing more of what I used to do? Not to say about the weird experiences, dreams and signs I've been getting. Shouldn't I really just keep my mouth shut and be the girl everyone wants me to be? A time out never occurred to me. That I needed one ,deserved one or that it could be mandatory for my health.Grief and everything that comes with it has clued me in on a lot of things. So has this lesson. It is OK to mourn my loved ones. It is also OK to still love them and to talk about them. It is OK to talk about what inspires me and moves me. It is OK to be quiet. It is OK to be loud. It is OK to be ME. Even if other people do not like it , understand it, or walk away. I will search within myself , outside myself and trust that my creative spirit is reamerging into who she is meant to be. For I shall know my Name:)

I've just joined Wishcasting Wednesdays! Todays prompt from Jamie is this:
What do you wish for your space?
What do you wish for your space?
First I have a question. Jamie, were you at my house or in my head last night?. As I sat at the computer, then in my overstuffed chair, then at the table on my back porch, in my office (that would be the "loo") & walked to my mothers house, all I longed for was space. It seemed everywhere I went, that I was being interrupted.I couldn't even find a quiet place in my own head!
A single, male friend of mine lives in a big, beautiful house. Off to the side of his master bedroom is room with a big picture window, french doors that lead onto to the back deck & a fireplace. I dream of having a room like this. I would add built in shelves for my numerous books, a corner desk for my computer & a porch swing to be hung from the ceiling so I could glide in front of the fireplace. Also there would be a door, with a lock on it. Maybe with one of those signs on it, like you use at a hotel. I could put up "Do not Disturb","Creative Genius At Work" or "Touch this Door & I Won't Make Dinner"
I wish for this. I also wish for the space that I do have to be a little more spiritual & creative. For it to be kept clean & for things to be put back in their rightful places.(notice the angels facing backwards--they scare my daughter-they look at her.)For time to meditate & relax in it. Be it in warm water or empty and dry with pillows, paper & pen.
